8 years before the iPad 1 with keyboard was released, we helped intel create a Laptop / Tablet convertible reference design that was meant to inspire computer makers using intel's chips. The design is simple and elegant and references leather goods, suggesting a greater integration of technology into people's everyday lifestyle.
The Newport concept was introduced by Intel CEO at the Intel Developers Forum in 2003 as a vision of the future. The vision has inspired many generations of electronics that has become today's reality.
Above are conept renderings of the final design which was then machined out of blocks of aluminum and corian.
